a-courageous-face-lift-version-4-1-is-here

Version 4.1 of Zelda Eternity is here. I really liked what I did with the original layout but I thought it could use a well-deserved face-lift. The layout is a bit more graphically enhanced this time which is something I was really pleased about and I’m sure some of you might agree. I brought back the game tabs because the header seemed pretty empty before. The navigation has seen a major face-lift as well and I might the game navigation of each game stand out a bit more than before.

I have also updated the Site History page as well with information on the new layout and a bit more progress with the site. Doublet has a couple more content pages coming for Oracle of Ages in the coming days so look out for that. I’ll probably try to get more content pages done for Majora’s Mask soon, once I get some stuff out of the way of course.

In Community News, Zelda Universe ended up winning the DSi XL contest for fan sites. It’s no doubt they would win since they have the largest Zelda community forums on the interwebs. Congrats ZU! We weren’t the only ones today to update our site’s layout. Our affiliate Zelda Informer has updated to Version 3.0 and they have brought colour back to their site as well. It looks a lot more professional in terms of style and it looks a lot easier to go through the navigation as well. So check out their new layout. Well, that’s it about from me today, I’m going to get to playing Ocarina of Time, on Nintendo 64!!!

  1. I must say, V4.1 look really good. In my opinion, it gives the site much more of a forest-y type feeling; a plus, given that V4 is so heavily inspired by the Kokiri forest. I can’t wait to see what we have in the works for V4.2, or, I daresay, V5.

  5. I thought I could do much better with this design which lead me to doing V4.1. Originally, the navigation wasn’t going to look like that, it was going to look the same as it did before. The content area was my biggest concern because I wanted to keep it the same size as before but I didn’t know what I was going to do with it but then it came to me.

I was actually going to do a bit more with the background to make it similar to my YouTube account’s background but due to the width of the layout, most people wouldn’t see the images I had in it unless they had a huge monitor or a widescreen laptop. I ended up adding a fade-in sort of effect though.

There isn’t going to be a V4.2 but there will be a V5 obvious but not for a long time. I want V4 to last a long time.

  7. Thanks for the compliments everybody! And I hope V4 lasts a while too, it has an actual “Zelda” feel… Unlike other sites…

Well, hopefully some all the other staff will start updating as well, so we can get more veiws. I am actually three guides away from completing OOA, and plan to do WW next.

  12. I guess we’ll find out when the time comes. I’m actually thinking of redoing the entire image gallery as well. There’s no sense in having empty folders with no images in them but that’s not an issue right now and I’ll probably save that for the summer or something.
