That Last Minute Marathon Update Posted on August 5, 2010 by SpaghettiWeegeeHiya, Zelda Eternity readers! By now, you’ve probably heard of our Massive Zelda Marathon, kicking off at exactly 12:00, noon (EST), on the sixth of August (if you haven’t, I recommend reading this and this). Oh, wait, the sixth is tomorrow, isn’t it? Wow, this things coming around fast. Well, this is the final update post you’ll see for it, it looks like, so enjoy it while it lasts.
Last Minute Changes
Now, as you may already know, in this marathon, we’re going to be playing through the first twelve Zelda titles (Four Swords Adventures included). Hopefully, we’re still going to be able to, however, we recently ran into some trouble concerning Link’s Awakening. The cartrage we were planning to use during the marathon has, unfortunately, become unusable. This didn’t happen until yesterday, so needless to say, we weren’t prepared for it. What does this mean for the marathon? Well, all manner of things, depending on which way our luck leans. You see, after I heard the news, I quickly ordered a replacement LA cartrage off of Amazon.com. If things go as planned, the game should arrive during the marathon, and we’ll be able to play through it. If things go wrong, however, and it comes after the marathon ends, we’ll obviously be unable to play it. If this is the case, then we’ll offer Link’s Awakening as a prize for our donators to win in the raffle at the end of the marathon. See, it’s a win-win for you guys. Also in the way of last minute updates, we’ve recruited another audio guest to make an appearance during the marathon. That’s right, in addition to Mases, Zelda Dungeon’s Axle the Beast is going to make an appearance! Other than that, everything is going just as planned. The method of collecting donations is set up, the stream is tested and ready, and the team is all assembled. Now all we have to do is play the actual games.
So, What Now? Well, now that you’re all caught up, there really isn’t anything else to say. Your job is easy from here. Simply come back here tomorrow at noon, (or head to our Ustream channel here), and let the extravaganza begin! And that’s it from me.
