POST UPDATED: Metroid Other M released!

That’s right, Other M was released in America the 31th August, Japan at the 2nd and in Europe at the 3rd. Metroid Recon has a good list of reviews if you scroll down a bit. If you’re looking for vid reviews, IGN is the only one having it at those listed sites, but then again, the written ones are longer. Looks like the game got some pretty good reviews, getting 8 or 8.5 many places. Some reviews were really negative, but those were few. There are mixed opinions about the game, but it’s mostly loved. 

My opinion? I got the game a day before the European release date due to ordering it, and getting it a day too early (I wasn’t complaining). I cleared it the next day, and I’m already playing a new game on a second file, and doing 100% on the old one. I think the gameplay is new, and very fun. There is some flaws, but they are few. One of the reasons people doesn’t like it is because of all the Prime games. But come on, Metroid Prime was also disliked at first (and look at the huge success it was!).  I’m sure people can get more used to this playing style as well. The controls are awesome, and the graphics are incredible. The cutscenes and the story is simply AMAZING. I remember seeing Ridley in the very first trailer, and not seeing him in any of the later ones. Well, I won’t give any spoilers, but you will not be disappointed when it comes to him! I think that this story is the best Metroid story yet, and one of the best game plots I have ever seen. Let’s just say it involves elements from about every loved 2D Metroid game. It’s a great title, may be a little short, may contain a bit too emotional Samus, but those are the only real flaws. I would probably give it 9/10 if I was a reviewer.

This is not exactly Zelda news, but this is one of the biggest Nintendo titles this year (AND I’m a great Metroid fan!). So no use complaining. What do you think of the game?

    I got it on Tuesday and I am absolutely LOVING it right now!! I wasn't able to get it before the release date, sadly enough, but I am having a great time playing it.

      I finished it a few days ago, I\’m currently trying to get a Dazzle and finding out if I really can do this :D If the connection is ok, and I get a dazzle, I will definitly do Other M, I think I can do it in less than 8 hours without dying.

    I beat the game already, and I must say, one of the best games I have ever played. There are a few things that I don't like such as the game being really short, and the way you get power ups suck. Other then that, the game is awesome. I love the voice acting as well as controls and graphics. I beat the game in about 12 hours with 69% of the items you can collect. I am a bit disappointed by that..

    But like you said, the ending of the game is amazing. Completely unexpected. I love how deep the story gets at some points of the game. Overall, like I said before, one of the best games I have ever played :)
