IGN vs: Results!

We posted about this round of IGN versus about two weeks ago, where IGN asked the fans what Zelda game they want next. They could choose between an ALttP remake, an ALttP sequel, and a Majora’s Mask remake. You can check out the results in the video below, or just view my response instead by clicking “read more”.

So, it looks like it’s a Majora’s Mask remake that the people want. Of course, this doesn’t mean Nintendo will make one, and it’s less than 50.000 fans that have voted, so it doesn’t have to mean anything, but this is hopefully a good indication of what the fans want. Personally, I voted for this as well, but I’d rather want a brand new 3DS game or a brand new Wii U game. A Majora’s Mask remake would definitely be cool though, but I’d rather want them to focus on something new. What about you guys?

    ….they never said a Link to the Past sequel…..mainly because there are already like 3 sequels…why do people always say ALTTP sequel? They said a game DEVELOPED in a similar style…..not a sequel

      This. They said a game inspired by ALttP, nothing to do with a sequel. Nevermind that ALttP already HAS a sequel, it was called Link's Awakening.

      And if you didn't vote for ALttP sequel, then you can't claim you want a new Zelda game, because it was the only option that was new in any fashion.

      Shame that so many people want what would likely be just a relatively lazy port of MM using the OoT 3D assets. I guess that's what we'll get, since it requires the very least amount of effort on Nintendo's part. Unfortunately, even with it not requiring much effort, it'll still take resources away from a new game. I love MM but I don't want another N64 port again. I can already play Majora's Mask, and I'm fairly sure the brighter colours of the 3DS would hurt the atmosphere anyway.

        You can infact say that you want a new Zelda game, even if you didn't vote for the Alttp sequel, because a sequel would have to happen after Alttp. I want something new that's not dependant of being after Alttp, since it's in the failure timeline. You can want an MM remake out of these three, even if you want a new game.

    Relating story lines in games has always come second in the Zelda franchise. I see no reason why this trend should be discontinued. New game all the way.

    If the graphics are going to be like the preview in that video, then I would definitely want a remake of Majora's Mask! With new technology, Nintendo has the potential to broaden the worlds of the older games in brilliant new ways. A remake of both Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time would be welcome in any Zelda community.

    Majoras mask does not have a OFFICIAL REMAKE IT HAS ONLY IMPORTS LIKE VC OR ZELDA collectors edition FOR GC MEANWHILE WHILE ALTTP HAS BEEN REMADE ON GAME BOY ADVANCE AND ITS BEST TO FOR MAJORAS MASK BECAUSE NOBODY BUT N64 OWNERS KNOW HOW GREAT IT IS PLAY BOTH FIRST 100% BESIDES 2D IN SOMEWHAT 3D WILL NOT LOOK GOOD ANY BETTER I LIKE ALTTP BUT THATS NOT AS FUN AS MAJORAS MASK just my opinon
