A user in the modding community has created a spectacular thing – a realistic portrayal of The Wind Waker! Konniksanders has transformed the cel-shaded (yet beautiful) Windfall Island into a world of realism. It is not yet complete, however, if you’re a Skyrim player, you can play it here, via the Steam Workshop. I believe a while back we talked about Zelda learning a few things from Skyrim, but I don’t think we meant like this! What do you think of this? For those of you that use Steam, will you be downloading this? Let us know below.

It disappoints me that "realistic" means "gray and dull". It strikes me as strange that a game released an entire console generation ago can be prettier than this on art style alone…

That's a very bad interpretation of "realistic", and many game devs don't realize this. Realsitic should still have bright and vibrant colors.

  2. Anon says:

He should do Zelda 2's entire overworld

I have never been so happy that Wind Waker's art is the way it is.

While this may be be beautiful, it really makes me think cell shading was the way to go with Wind Waker.
