The above screenshot is a supposedly “leaked” screenshot for Zelda 3DS.  It comes from this thread on GameFAQs Forum.  In this shot, the subtitle reads Shrimp Shield.  And by the looks of it, Grezzo’s on board.  Great!  But I know some of you are already thinking: It’s fake. Most likely, yes, it is – but we’ve yet to get a confirmation of any kind.   Fake or not, I think this looks great as we’ve yet to see a Zelda game based around the Shield.  And with the last game centered around the Sword, who knows?  Could be? There are 2 possible ways this person obtained this shot.  Hit the jump to find out what I think of it as well as why I think it’s fake.

In my opinion, I honestly think it’s fake.  I think whoever created the photo probably created the picture online, uploaded it, clicked on it in the 3DS Browser, and voila.  Either that, or this person has some artistic talent and created this in the 3DS app Colors! 3D.

We’re hoping to see some news on Zelda 3DS next year sometime, and hopefully even a release!  2012 has been slow for us Zelda fans, but hopefully next year we’ll see the release of the long-awaited Zelda 3DS, or find out if this rumor is true even sooner!  What’s your take on this picture?  Fake?  Real?  Let us know in the comments below.

I don't know if I would play a Zelda game called "Shrimp Shield". :P

Just the name is enough to scream fake!

zelda's subtitles are usually pretty epic sounding… shrimp sheild? doesn't sound like an adventure.. it sounds like a medieval sea food resturaunt. on top of that, the shield is totally photoshopped from spirit tracks, with what looks like a shrimp instead of a force gem at the top. this reaks of fakeness.

There's another screenshot that clearly uses an image from The Wind Waker, as well. It's totally fake.

  5. Joseph Pickens says:

They couldn't have clicked on it in the browser since you can't use 3D in the browser (the light showing that you can use 3D mode is turned on).

We already have a Zelda title with "SS" as initials. If this is real, wtf, Nintendo.
