Now, I don't always read fan-fiction... But when I do... I prefer GuitarShank's.



To be perfectly honest, this is one of the few fan-fictions I've read that tries to explain a rather large plot-point in any Zelda game that doesn't totally piss me off. As I was reading, I found it really quite easy to be sucked into the story, which is good, because I'm not an easily entertained person. You certainly weaved a compelling tale, good sir.

And I'll MEET you at that sad, dead tree, Teryn... RIGHT there at that sad, sad tree...

Absolutely fantastic, Shank. It really surprised me how much I enjoyed it, because you know how much I dislike original characters. Written well, fantastic pacing, just long enough to make a good story but not too long. I really, really loved it.

There was a lot of sublety, too. You never specifically mentioned who Teryn was, though it was strongly implied throughout. (Probably woulda been a huge surprise had you not already told us before. XD) Perfection. ^.^

Also, yeah, those little subtleties were on purpose. I also figured it'd be best not to give it away in the author's notes, heh heh.

I only have two main fears: 1- People won't have the patience or attention span to read it; 2- People will start reading and go "Who the heck is this guy?" and stop reading.

Well written and I'm pretty much along the lines of Weegee and Skalla.
This TOTALLY changes the images of Ganon and another enemy of Link, though.

I took my time to sit down and read it now ^_^

Now that I HAVE read it, I know that this isn't some kind of junk like many of the stories out there, this is one of those awesome and rare stories that I like to read! A short and excellent story, thumbs up from me!

Now this I find really beautiful. Teryn tries to think he is the hero, but is punished by becoming the ultra ego of himself. This is a really interesting idea about something (or someone?) we as Zelda fans find almost as important as Ganon himself, and I really like it.
And I love how you incorporated the tree into it. It makes it sound so much more real and fitting into the Ocarina of Time world; Teryn now has to spend the rest of his life with the one thing he dreads.

I rate this fan fic 110% wonderful.

This was just brilliant, I've never actually read fan-fiction before, but the explanation of how Dark Link came to be in Ocarina of Time was ingenious. I liked how it showed everything that happened while Link was in the Temple of Time through the eyes of Teryn, and how his mother always punished him by sending him into a endless barren illusion with a lone bare tree in the middle, and that's why Dark Link's room is the way it is.

Very good, Shank! I really liked it! A thoughtful plot, well written and also very likely. If you post any more fan fiction in the future, then be sure I will read it!
