Pokemon: Shiny Hunting

I made this thread, because I was wondering, if anyone here likes to hunt for shinies in pokemon. I just recently started (yesterday) and am searching for a shiny charmander on leagreen, female if i am so lucky. I Soft Resetted (saving the game right before you choose your pokemon and then turning off and back on when you don't get a shiny) about 100 times last night.
So tell me if anyone else likes to hunt for shinies or any you have.

I've heard of people doing this with the soft-resetting. It can take a looooong time. But I guess for a Black Charizard it can be worth it =P

You can also do the same thing with legendaries and other Pokémon you have to interact with to battle. I've never done it myself as it takes far too long and it doesn't really add much to the game. However, I do have a shiny Alakazam, which is cool. Took me forever to realize that he wasn't supposed to have any purple on him... "Alakazam looks different from what I remember, but I just can't place what's changed..."

Yup. I plan to get all the starters in shiny, no it doesn't add to the game. But it is still cool to have =]
