Swords & Shields
Kokiri Sword
Location: Kokiri Forest (Ocarina of Time)
How to get: Have it at the start

The Kokiri Sword is your default sword you use for the first bit of the game. Like Ocarina of Time, it is pretty weak so it should upgrade it as soon as possible.

Razor Sword
Location: Mountain Smithy
How to get: Refer to our Gilded Sword page

The Razor Sword is two times more powerful than your Kokiri Sword. However with it's flaw, it will revert back to the Kokiri Sword is you attack with is 100 times.

Gilded Sword
Location: Mountain Smithy
How to get: Refer to our Gilded Sword page

The Gilded Sword is roughly four times more powerful than your Kokiri Sword. It can beat those stronger enemies much easier than before. Just as powerful as the Master Sword in terms of in-game strength.

Hero's Shield
Location: Various Shops
How to get: Have it at the start, purchase at various shops

The Hero's Shield is your basic shield for Link to defend himself. Hold the R button to defend and hold R while Z/L Targeting to defend while moving.

Mirror Shield
Location: Beneath the Well
How to get: Trade various items to Gibdos "Beneath the Well"

The Mirror Shield replaces the Hero's Shield with a new ability. Like Ocarina of Time, you can use it to reflect light on objects such as sunblocks and mirrors.


Quest Items
Bomber's Notebook
Location: North or East Clock Town
How to get: Play hide and seek again or Put in the code and go back out as normal Link

The Bomber's Notebook allows you to keep track of 20 people. Helping out these people will help you get a lot of items for the long run.

Heart Pieces

Heart Pieces (or Piece of Hearts) are used to help increase your health bar. Collect 4 Heart Pieces to create a Heart Container.

Adult Wallet
Location: Clock Town Bank
How to get: Deposit 200 Rupees

The Adult Wallet allows you to carry up to 200 Rupees. Useful for purchasing some good items with a high price.

Giant Wallet
Location: Oceanside Spider House
How to get: Kill 30 Gold Skulltulas on Dawn of the First Day

The Giant Wallet allows you to carry up to 500 Rupees, over half of your previous wallet. It is needed to purchase the All-Night Mask.

Quiver
Location: Woodfall Temple
How to get: Get the Hero's Bow

Once you get the Hero's Bow, it will come with a quiver that can hold a maximum of 30 arrows.

Large Quiver
Location: Swamp Shooting Gallery
How to get: Get a perfect score

The Large Quiver (called Big Quiver in menu) will allow you to carry an extra 10 arrows so you can hold a maximum of 40 arrows.

Largest Quiver
Location: Town Shooting Gallery
How to get: Score 39 points or more

The Largest Quiver (called Biggest Quiver in menu) will allow you to carry an extra 10 arrows so you can hold a maximum of 50 arrows.

Bomb Bag

How to get: Purchase for 50 Rupees

The Bomb Bag will give you the ability to use Bombs. Your Bomb Bag can hold a maximum of 20 Bombs.

Big Bomb Bag
Location: Curiosity Shop/Bomb Shop
How to get: Purchase for 90 Rupees. Available at the Curiosity Shop if you didn't save the old lady

The Big Bomb Bag will allow you to carry an extra 10 bombs so you can hold a maximum of 30 bombs.

Biggest Bomb Bag
Location: Goron Village/Southern Swamp
How to get: Purchase for 200 Rupees (Discount if you trade your deed)

The Biggest Bomb Bag will allow you to carry an extra 10 bombs so you can hold a maximum of 40 bombs.


C-Button Items
Ocarina of Time
Location: Top of Clock Tower
How to get: Blow a bubble at the Skull Kid as a Deku

The Ocarina of Time does the same thing as it did in the previous game. Use the C-Buttons and the A Button to play the notes and the B Button to cancel.

Hero's Bow
Location: Woodfall Temple
How to get: Defeat Dinofos

The Hero's Bow allows you to fire arrows. Set it to a C-Button, hold, and let go to fire. You are able to carry up to 30 arrows.

Fire Arrow
Location: Snowhead Temple
How to get: Defeat Wizrobe

The Fire Arrow gives you the ability to burn things with your Hero's Bow using your magic power.

Ice Arrow
Location: Great Bay Temple
How to get: Defeat Wart

The Ice Arrow gives you the ability to freeze things with your Hero's Bow using your magic power.

Light Arrow
Location: Stone Tower Temple
How to get: Defeat Garo Master

The Light Arrow gives you the ability to fire a beam of light with your Hero's Bow using your magic power.

Bomb
Location: Bomb Shop, various places
How to get: Find them all around, Purchase for 30 Rupees at the Bomb Shop

The Bomb allows you to blow up obstacles, objects and enemies. Not much more to say.

Bombchu
Location: Bomb Shop, very few treasure chests
How to get: Purchase for 40 Rupees at the Bomb Shop

The Bombchu is a type of bomb that has a mind of it's own. Drop one on the ground and it will crawl in whatever path you drop it at.

Deku Stick
Location: Various areas
How to get: Kill Deku Babas, Various areas where provided

The Deku Stick allows you to light torches by lighting the stick on fire. Eventually, the stick will completely burn if you don't put it away.

Deku Nut
Location: On the way to Clock Town, Various Areas
How to get: Various areas where provided

The Deku Nut creates a blinding flash when thrown which will stun your enemies.

Magic Bean
Location: Southern Swamp/Clock Town, Deku Palace (in a pit)
How to get: Purchase for 10 Rupees

The Magic Bean can be planted in a soft-earth spot. Use Springwater or play the Song of Storms to water the plant and you can hover around on them.

Powder Keg
Location: Goron Village, Bomb Shop
How to get: Blow up the boulder blocking the Goron Racetrack, purchase for 50 Rupees at the Bomb Shop

The Powder Keg is a powerful bomb to blow up bigger objects. They can only be used as a Goron and you can only hold one at a time.

Pictograph Box
Location: Tourist Centre (Southern Swamp)
How to get: Save Koume of the Woods of Mystery

The Pictograph Box allows you to take pictures like a normal camera. You can only save one photo at a time but can be deleted anytime.

Lens of Truth
Location: Goron Village (floating shrine)
How to get: Get to the floating shrine with the help of Kaebora Gaebora (the owl)

The Lens of Truth allows you to see things that cannot be seen by the naked eye. It will consume your Magic Power.

Hookshot
Location: Pirate's Fortress (Leader's Quarters)
How to get: Fire an arrow at the beehive on the ceiling

The Hookshot allows you to grapple certain objects such as Hookshot targets and some wooden objects like chests.

Great Fairy's Sword
Location: Fairy's Fountain (Ikana Canyon)
How to get: Collect the 15 Stray Fairies in the Stone Tower Temple

The Great Fairy's Sword is a blade given to you by the Great Fairy of Ikana Canyon. It is much stronger than any sword in the game.

Empty Bottles

Empty Bottles are used to hold some things that you can use to for later. It's good to have as many as possible are certain points.

Happy Masks

Happy Masks are special masks you can find all over Termina each holding a purpose in your adventure. There are 24 Happy Masks in the game for you to collect and take advantage of so get collecting!

Moon's Tear

The Moon's Tear is an event item which starts off a whole trading sequence. Bring it to the Business Scrub in South Clock Town.

Land Title Deed
Location: South Clock Town

The Land Title Deed is received after you trade the Moon's Tear. Go to Southern Swamp to trade the deed.

Swamp Title Deed
Location: Southern Swamp (outside Tourist Information)
How to get: Refer to our Trading Sequence page

The Swamp Title Deed is received after you trade the Land Title Deed. Go to Goron Village to trade the deed.

Mountain Title Deed
Location: Goron Village

The Mountain Title Deed is received after you trade the Swamp Title Deed. Go to Zora Hall to trade the deed.

Ocean Title Deed

The Ocean Title Deed is received after you trade the Mountain Title Deed. Go to Ikana Canyon to trade the deed.

Room Key
Location: Stock Pot Inn (East Clock Town)

The Room Key is given to you by mistake since there is a Goron with the same name as your character. You can now go into the middle room on the second floor. The Room Key will disappear when you get Special Delivery to Mama.

Letter to Kafei
Location: Stock Pot Inn (East Clock Town)

The Letter to Kafei is a letter Anju needs for you to deliver. Drop it in one of the postboxes around town before the Postman makes his route.

Pendant of Memories
Location: Curiosity Shop (Back Room)

The Pendant of Memories is a gift Kafei gave to you to deliver to Anju. Give it to her before she leaves.

Express Mail to Mama
Location: Curiosity Shop (Back Room)
How to get: Refer to our Anju & Kafei Quest page when it's up

The Express Mail to Mama (called Special Delivery to Mama in menu) is a crutial item of sorts that you get from the Curiosity Shop Guy. You can either give it to the Postman or give it to Madame Aroma wearing Kafei's Mask.

Stray Fairies are fairies that form the Great Fairy. Find all Stray Fairies in dungeons to learn new abilities from the Great Fairies all over Termina.

The Dungeon Map shows which room you are in. With the Compass, you'll know exactly where you are.

Compass

How to get: Find in a chest

The Compass allows you to see where you are on the Dungeon Map. You can also find chests as well.

Small Key
Location: Dungeons
How to get: Find in chests

Small Keys are used to open locked doors. Plain and simple.

Boss Key
Location: Dungeons
How to get: Defeat a miniboss

The Boss Key (called Big Key in menu) is used to unlock a door to a boss room. You'll most likely have to face a miniboss to get one.

Heart Container
Location: Dungeon boss rooms
How to get: Defeat a dungeon's boss

Heart Containers will instantly add a new container to your Heart Meter. With only four dungeons, there are only four to collect.

Mask Remains
Location: Woodfall, Snowhead, Great Bay and Stone Tower Temples
How to get: Defeat the bosses of each dungeon

Mask Remains show proof that you beat a certain dungeon in the game. All 4 are needed to reach the final boss.


Other Items
Recovery Heart
Location: Various Areas
How to get: Grass, Pots, Enemies, etc.

Recovery Hearts (commonly called Hearts) are used to heal your Heart Meter. You can usually get three hearts in areas where you'd get three rupees.

Rupee
Location: Various Areas
How to get: Grass, Pots, Enemies, etc.

Rupees are used as the currency in the game. Collect as many as you can to purchase more expensive things. Green = 1, Blue = 5, Red = 20, Purple = 50, Silver = 100, Orange = 200.

Magic Jar
Location: Various Areas
How to get: Grass, Pots, Enemies, etc.

Magic Jars are used to fill up you Magic Meter. Unlike Ocarina of Time, jars in this game fill up more. Small jars fill 1/4 of your meter. Big jars fill 1/2 of your meter.

Arrow
Location: Various Areas
How to get: Grass, Pots, Enemies, etc.

Arrows are needed for your Hero's Bow and some of them come in bundles. One arrow contains 10 arrows, two contain 20 arrows, and three contain 30 arrows.

Map
Location: Various Areas
How to get: Purchase from Tingle

Maps work in a similar fashion to the Dungeon Map. When you purchase a map in say Clock Town or Southern Swamp, a map will be onscreen to see where you are.

Gold Skulltula Token
Location: Spider Houses
How to get: Kill Gold Skulltulas

Gold Skulltula Tokens appear when you kill a Gold Skulltula in the Swamp Spider House and Oceanside Spider House. Kill all 30 per house to get a special prize.
