Skulltula Houses

In Termina, there are two abandoned houses that are crawling with familiar cursed spiders called Gold Skulltulas. If you clear each house of the 30 spiders inhabiting it, you will get a reward. Below, you can find out how to get to each house, what you need for each house, where to find the skulltulas and what reward you will get.

Swamp Spider House

Swamp Spider House

Location: The Swamp Spider House is located in Southern Swamp in the area with the poisonous water and the entrance to the Deku Palace. You should find the house on a little island close to the special exit from the Deku Palace.

Items needed: Empty Bottle (3), Deku Mask, Bombs, Magic Beans (2)
Optional: Goron Mask, Hookshot, Hero's Bow, Bunny Hood, Song of Storms

Reward: Mask of Truth

Once you speak to the mutated Skulltula man, pick up the rock and bottle some bugs. After that, enter the first room.

#1 At the end of the ramp by the statue, moving in the water.	#2 To the left of the statue, moving up and down a pillar.
#3 Off the left side of the ramp in a jar.	#4 & #5 At each side of the room, inside a soft soil patch on the wall.

There are a few more in the main room that you can get later. Go to the room to the left which should have a giant rock pillar in the middle of the room.

#6 At the far left corner of the room, inside one of the wooden crates.	#7 Inside a wooden crate at the other side of the room.
#8 On the wall under a platform. You can use the Hookshot OR break the boulder, plant a bean, water it, and hover over to it.	#9 Crawling on the rock pillar.
#10 On the upper level in a corner next to the door.

After finishing in this room, open the door to the main room on the upper floor.

#11 To the left behind the last pillar after going through the door.	#12 Up high on the north wall. Get it with the Hookshot OR blow a bubble/fire an arrow and fly over as the Deku.
#13 Inside a soft soil patch on the south wall, on the opposite side of the room on the upper level.

Once done, enter the door that leads to a room with giant pots on the upper floor.

#14 In a beehive on the ceiling as seen.	#15 In a beehive on the ceiling as seen.
#16 Ground floor, inside a jar.	#17 Inside a cave, blocked by a wall of grass.
#18 Roll into the giant pot, first on the far left.	#19 Roll into the giant pot, second on the far right.
#20 Awaken the sleeping Deku and use the Deku flower. It is crawling against the north wall.

Once cleared, enter the door to the left on the upper level above the cave.

#21 Take a right, it is moving up and down the pillar.	#22 On the wall, where the ladder appears.
#23 In a beehive on the ceiling as seen.	#24 Above the small opening to the last room.

Plant a magic bean, water it, then hop on to get to the path to the last room OR with the Bunny Hood, run and jump over on the upper ledge.

#25 Moving in the grass along the left wall.	#26 Moving in the grass by the entrance.
#27 In a beehive on the ceiling on the far right as seen.	#28 - #30 Roll into the tree.

Go back to the main room and the man will be back to normal. Speak to him and you will receive the Mask of Truth for all your hard work. The Mask of Truth allows you to learn information from Gossip Stones, as well as read the minds of animals.

Oceanside Spider House

Location: The Oceanside Spider House is located in Great Bay Coast, the area with Tingle at the Marine Research Lab. It is located just off the beach at two houses. It is the house on the left.

Items needed: Bombs, Hookshot, Hero's Bow, Fire Arrow
Optional: Captain's Hat (for Heart Piece #37)

Reward: Giant Wallet (1st Day only), Heart Piece #37 (refer to our Heart Piece guide for details)

Once you enter, blow up the cracked wall with a bomb, you'll find a new path.

On the ceiling blocked by a spider web, lower area.

Once finished in the entrance room, head over to the main room which is channeled by a set of stairs. Work your way down.

#4 Roll into the first large pot.	#5 Roll into the last large pot blocked by spider webs.
#6 Moving back and forth on the far rafters on the ceiling.	#7 Moving in and out of a mask above the stairs.
#8 While standing on the stairs, you can see it moving inside the dark crevasse ahead of you.	#9 Roll into a large pot next to a door.
#10 In a jar on top of some crates.	#11 Inside a small hole in the wall, blocked by spider webs.
#12 Moving in and out of a mask next to a door.

After finishing it this room, enter the door at the end of the basement floor.

#13 On the ceiling blocked by a spider web.	#14 Roll into the wooden crate to the left of the door, enter the small opening. It is above the entrance.
#15 Roll into the wooden crate at the other side of the room.	#16 Behind a bunch of wooden canoes, opposite to the door.
#17 Hookshot your way to the upper area of this room. It is inside the middle jar.

Once done, head your way to the next door closer to the stairs.

#18 It is hiding behind a portrait to the left of the door. Use your Hookshot to take it down.	#19 Roll into a large pot in the far left corner of the room, blocked by spider webs.
#20 Moving inside the dark part of the ceiling to the right of the door.	#21 - #23 Roll into the table.

In this room, you have noticed that there are 4 colored masks on the wall. If you shoot these in a specific order, you can open a passage to get a Heart Piece. If you have the Captain's Hat, you can speak to any Stalchild in the spider house about which order to shoot them in. If you don't feel like asking them, figure it out yourself though you will need a lot of arrows so make sure you are close to full stock.

After killing the Skulltulas and getting the Heart Piece, head to the last door upstairs you haven't entered blocked by spider webs.

#24 Inside a hole blocked by little bookcases.	#25 It is hiding behind a portrait opposite to the door. Use your Hookshot to take it down.
#26 Moving inside the dark part of the ceiling above the hole blocked by little bookcases.	#27 Climb on top of the bookcases. It is sitting on a bookshelf at the bottom left corner of the room.
#28 It is hiding behind a portrait to the left of the door inside a hole. Use your Hookshot to take it down.	#29 & #30 Push a big bookcase to reveal a small room with them on the walls.

Head back to the entrance and a guy should be there looking around really fast. Speak to him and he will give you the Giant Wallet, which allows you to now hold a maximum of up to 500 Rupees, enough to purchase the All-Night Mask.
