Shortly after the third dungeon, you will acquire an item called the strange flute. Depending on your means of finding it, you will either enlist the help of Dimitri, Moosh, or Ricky. Below is a simple list of where to find these instuments, as wel as a description of the pets.

Moosh: Moosh is a large blue bear with wings on his back. He possesed the ability to hover over holes for short periods of time, and is kind of like a ridable roc's cape.
His main disadvantage is the fact that he is afraid of water, meaning he will cost you a heart if you attempt to fly him over a river or ocean. Luckily to make up for this con he posesses a pretty strong attack,
in which he ground pounds on unlucky foes. The attack has great range and can be charged for double the size and power!
Obtainable: Moosh's Flute is the easiest flute to obtain in the game. All you have to do is not retreive any of the other flutes and Moosh will be yours!

Dimitri: Dimitri is a red dodongo who has a love for the water. He can swim up waterfalls, paddle through tough currents, and parade without fear through the open waters of the ocean. (He is great early in the game if you want to explore Lynna's vast seas without the mermaid suit) Just note however that his attack is
pretty terible. All he does his embrace his dodongo nature and eat any enemies in sight! And, like other dodongos, he's pretty slow on land... So use the power bracelets to carry him when you aren't in the water!
Obtainable: To obtain Dimitri as your faithful friend you must purchase the flute at Lynna city shop. After clearing Moonlit Grotto and getting back the mainland, stop by the shop and purchase the strange flute.
Its 200 ruppees, which, if you don't have, can be retrieved by spelunking through the ground with your shovel.

Ricky: Ricky is a Kangeroo that can hop over holes and win boxing matches. He has spring loaded hips and large red boxing gloves that will beat most enemies to death in one punch.
(You can even hold "A" and he will release a twister into nearby enemies.) In my opinion, Ricky is the best bet to aquire and the funnest to use.
Obtainable: To acquire Ricky you must score over 250 points in the Lynna village target practice. Like the other flutes, you
must obtain this one right after Moonlit grotto. So, as soon as you get back to Lynna City, travel to any of the wharps so you
can get to the past. Journey to the Lynna Target Practice (In the long building just two screens below the Maku tree's domain)
and walk inside. All you have to do is swing your sword so the red dart hits a couple of the light blue blocks - Purple ones detract from your score- and you will be awarded with this strange flute!
