Oracle of Ages was Link's first chance to kick butt over on the classic Gameboy Color. Equipped with a sword, a pet, and
a musical instrument, you could slice ('n dice) enemies, seranade beatiful girls, and spiral back and forth through the
waves of time. In addition, you could play fun minigames, find helpful items, and run along the country side as you attempt
to rescue the ultimate Maiden, The Oracle of Ages herself, Nayru.
OOA, as it is abbreviated, was released with a similiar game known as Oracle of Seasons. Though the Games' items
differed, the graphics, characters, and overall storyline remained the same. You were still trying to rescue an oracle -
Din in OOS- and you were still bashing your way through burly enemies, and hefty bosses; however, ages features less
eroneosities, meaning it was designed for a smart detective, with a mad mind that would undoubtly try every possibility till
the many Labrynths of the game were solved. In fact, the name of the overworld is a play on words that forshadows the games mental challenges. (Labrynna sounds
a whole lot like labrynth, doesn't it?)
So, what else made this game unique? A whole lot of things, teamwork being one of them. Players delving into the
enemie filled caverns of Holodrum, in Seasons, could link up with a friend facing Ages' tough puzzles via a GBC link cable.
In a "linked file" - What Capcom calls it - You could exchange hidden passwords to certain non playable characters. In
exchange for given them the code, you were often times rewarded with a powerful item. Some of these items include the Bombchu,
Biggoron's Sowrd, the Master Sword, and the Mirror shield.
Even if you didn't have a link cable, you could still start a Password oriented quest after beating one of these twin
video games. You would just enter a hidden code given to you at the end of your fight on the start screen of the opposite
game. Either way, this fun add on to one of the best games in history will keep you playing it over and over again. So,
how a'bout we get started? Plug in your cartridge and dive into the world of Zelda, the world of Adventure!
