As Young Link you might stumble across two Scarecrows in Lake Hylia. Bonooru loves music and has a perfect memory, while Pierre wants to travel the world. Now take your Ocarina out, now before you play your Ocarina write down a simple tune you'll be able to remember. Now play your Ocarina for Pierre he'll bounce around in excitment. Go Play the same song for Bonooru and he'll say that he'll remember it. Now the next part takes place as Adult Link. Come back to Lake Hylia and you'll notice that Bonooru is the only Scarecrow there. Looks like Pierre got his wish. Go play the same tune you played for Bonooru and Pierre as a child. Now it'll say you learned the Scarecrow Song! He'll tell you to play that same song whenever you see Navi go green. If you play the song, Pierre will pop up and you can shoot your Hookshot or Longshot into him which will help you access places you couldn't normally have access to.

In the room where you first encounter Baby Dodongos there is a ledge above the ground. Navi will go green, whip out your Ocarina and play the Scarecrows Song. Remember you have to be Adult Link to be able to reach the ledge because you need the Hookshot/Longshot. Once you get up there there is a Gold Skulltula waiting for you.
