Below you can use the navigation system to read about the various ethnicities in the world of Zelda. This section is currently being worked on so only some races have articles. Soon each race will have an article in their description. For now, enjoy the ones available.

The Hylians are the dominant race of Hyrule in most Legend of Zelda games. They have appeared in every single Zelda game. The main character of every game, Link, is also a Hylian, as well as Princess Zelda. The Hylians are said to be the "race closest to the gods".

The Sheikah, otherwise known as the Shadow Folk, are a race of ninja-like humans in the world of Hyrule, devoted to the Golden Goddesses and the protection of the Royal Family of Hyrule. They are very secretive and warrior-like, well known for their magic abilities and stealthy combat skills.

Lands Enhabited: The Twilight Realm

The Twili were once a group of people that roamed throughout Hyrule. They were sent to the Twilight Realm by the sages because they tried to take the Triforce by using Fused Shadows. But the Gods were too strong. They then became banished and the Fused Shadows were seperated throughout the two realms.

This article brings us to the desert tribe, the Gerudo. Introduced in Ocarina of Time, the Gerudo are a tribe that consists entirely of females, except for a male that is born every 100 years. This male is known as the King of Gerudo. The most famous Gerudo, the main villain of the Zelda series is Ganondorf.

Lands Enhabited: Desert Of Doubt

The Zuna are an Arabian looking race. They in habit the Desert of Doubt in Four Swords Adventures. They are also believed to be descendent of the people that built the Desert of Doubt Pyramid. They live in tents with giant flowers on top of them.

The Lokomo are a tribe of Sages that appeared in only one Legend of Zelda game, Spirit Tracks. They play a fairly important role. They reside in their own sanctuaries in their respective realms, with the exception of two. The Lokomo, as described by Lokomo Anjean, are known for being "servants of the spirits".

The Kokiri are children that inhabit the Kokiri Forest in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The Kokiri are a peaceful race, under the guardianship of the Great Deku Tree. All the Kokiri wear a similar green garb, similar to the tunic that Link wears in every game.

Lands Enhabited: Forest Haven

Koroks are thought to be descendent from the Kokiri tribe. The Koroks have wooden bodies (like the Deku Scrubs) and leaves for their faces. They move around by using leaf like gliders, and they also use leaves as umbreallas. The Koroks like the Kokiri all live near the Great Deku Tree. The Koroks hold a special ceremony every year. The Koroks take seeds to individual islands, plant them, and take care of them until they grow.

Minish (Picori)
Lands Enhabited:Through out Hyrule, Minish Woods, Mount Crenel

The Minish (or Picori as they are known by the rest of Hyrule) are super small mice-like beings. They are so small that no adult can see them. It is said that only small children can see Minish. The Minish are also responsible for small, kind deeds that happen every now and then. This benifits Hylians and Minish both, so its a win-win situation. Minish also place Rupees through out the land of Hyrule.

A race that first appeared in Ocarina of Time are Deku. There are four confirmed variations of the Deku. These are the Deku, Deku Scrubs, Mad Scrubs, and Business Scrubs. Whether it be one or all four kinds, the Deku appear in Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords Adventures, and The Minish Cap.

Lands Enhabited: Crescent Island

The Tokay Live on Tokay Island. Link discovers this Lizard like race in Oracle of Ages. They are an Islander tribe that instead of using currency they like to barter. They have a large intrest in Mystical seeds. They usually use these to barter with due to their lack of currency. As Link advances through time it seems that the Tokay start to evolve. One example is how they turned a house into a museum.

Lands Enhabited: City In The Sky

Oocca are an odd chicken/human looking race. They supposedly created the Hylian race. They are also said to be the ancestors of the Hylian race. They aren't very good at flying, but can be used more to glide from place to place. They're skin seems to be covered in eligent feathers and some jewels.

The Rito are a race of bird-like people found in only one game, which is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The Rito are a peaceful race that live on Dragon Roost Island under the guardianship of Valoo, the Sky Spirit. Evidence supports that the Rito are an evolved form of the Zoras, as well as the fact that it has been confirmed by Eiji Aounuma.

Lands Enhabited: Through Out Hyrule, Termina, Holodrum, Labrynna, The Great Sea, Koholint

Fairies are very helpful litte guides/healers. Great Fairies inhabit caves and fountains through out Hyrule, Holodrum, Terminia, Koholint, Labrynna, and the Great Sea. They will always replinish your health, and award you with up-grades if you help them out. Normal Fairies are usually guides. They help you figure out puzzles, and point out things that you never would have seen.

Lands Enhabited: Subrosia

Subrosians are small, strange robe wearing folk. They enjoy lava baths, dancing, and boomerangs. The Subrosians don't use the normal currency most Hyruleans use, but instead use Ore chunks which can be found almost anywhere in Subrosia. The Subrosians can be very secretive, and like to play games.

The Gorons are a recurring race in The Legend of Zelda series. They are large stone-eating creatures that usually live on a mountain, specifically Death Mountain. Their appearance of that is similar to a colored stone with legs and arms. Gorons are usually a shade of yellow or brown. However, in Oracle of Ages, their color changes.

Lands Enhabited: The Isle Of Frost

Anouki are an Inuit- (Eskimo) like tribe with antlers that come out of their hood. Their enemies are the Yook, but they made a peace agreement 100 years pior to Phantom Hourglass.

Lands Enhabited: The Great Ice Field

The Yook are Yeti like animals that carry big wooden clubs. They use to fight bitterly with the Anouki but reached a peace agreement, or so it would seem. They are vulnerable by bombs and Link's sword. These guys are very, very defensive.

In Ocarina of Time, the Zoras reside in either Zora's Domain, or Lake Hylia, where most go when they are full grown. In Majora's Mask, the Zoras live in the Great Bay, in Zora Cape. In Oracle of Ages, Sea Zoras have a village in the western area of the oceans that lie south of Labrynna.
